Large Vctorian burr walnut & inlaid jewellery box.

A good quality Victorian burr walnut jewellery box, the lid and front inlaid with wide geometric marquetry bands, the top with central tunbridge ware panel, the front with similar keyhole escutcheon.

The box has been re-lined in a red cotton moire fabric and a luxurious red silk velvet, the inside of the lid further embellished with gold thread embroidery. The lift-out tray reveals a further storage area beneath. To the right of the box a brass pin releases the side drawer which has also been re-lined.

With working lock & tasselled key.
