Fine French kingwood & brass inlaid jewellery box.

A fine quality 19th century French jewellery box, the top inlaid with intricate brass line decoration with decorative central cartouche, the edge banded in further brass. Of unusual shape with rounded corners.

The box has been re-lined in a blue silk cotton moire fabric and luxurious dark blue silk velvet, the panel to the interior of the lid further embellished with gold thread embroidery.

The box has been cleaned and professionally French polished and is in showroom condition.

With working lock & tassled key.
