Victorian burr walnut jewellery box by Bagshaw & Sons

A large Victorian burr walnut jewellery box by J. Bagshaw & Sons, Liverpool.

With well chosen veneers throughout the edges with a fine ebony band. The top has a large rectangular brass cartouche, the front with matching keyhole escutcheon.

The box opens to reveal the original mahogany interior, the lift-out tray revealing further storage beneath. We have re-lined the base of these sections to match the original lining in the rest of the box.

The lid has the original reversible mirror in good condition released by a secret button behind the lock keep. Behind the mirror is a leather document pouch.

A button to the rear of the box releases the lower drawer which retains it's original fitted interior and cover in good clean order.
