Unusual satinwood & coromandel jewellery box.

A good quality Victorian jewellery box, unusually veneered in satinwood with coromandel crossbanding and box edging, the top with a large shield-shaped vacant cartouche, the front with matching keyhole escutcheon.

The box has been re-lined in a cotton moire with complimentary plush pink velvet, the lift-out tray revealing a further storage area beneath. To the rear of the box a gilt brass button releases the drawer to the front.
