Superb antique table / games box in the manner of Tahan, Paris

A stunning French table or games box in the manner of Tahan, Paris. The slightly domed top profusely inlaid with tulipwood, brass, ebony and mother of pearl creating a star pattern throughout. The central panel is crossbanded with line stringing in brass, tulipwood and ebony with further tulipwood banding to the edges. The whole has been edged in brass. The sides of the box are veneered in Amboyna.

The box opens to reveal the original fitted interior divided into compartments.
