A good quality late 19th century French table or jewellery box, the top and sides inlaid with geometric marquetry panels further embellished with decorative brass bandings. The centre of the lid has a painted ceramic cartouche in a brass frame. The keyhole has a decorative brass escutcheon.

The box has been re-lined in a luxurious deep red silk velvet.

With working lock and tassled key.
