Fine large Georgian rosewood military style box.

A fine quality early 19th century rosewood box, the wonderfully figured rosewood banded in unusual white metal edges, the top with large white metal shield shaped vacant cartouche. The sides are mounted with flush fitting brass military type handles.

The box has been re-lined in a quality deep red cotton velvet.

With working improved patent lock and tassled key.
