A fine Georgian birds-eye maple box, profusely inlaid with various woods, the lid with a central rosewood section with inset shell cartouche, the whole box banded by various specimen woods to include tulipwood, mahogany, lacewood and rosewood as well as marquetry panels. 

The inlays continue on the inside of the box which has been re-lined in a plush red velvet.

Standing on original mahogany bun feet.

With fully working lock and decorative key.
