A fine early Victorian Indian rosewood jewellery box by Baxter, 16 Cockspur Street, London. With brass edging throughout, the top and front with further inlaid brass lines, the top with an monogrammed shield shaped escutcheon.

The box opens to reveal a fully fitted interior lined in a vibrant plush red velvet, the lift-out tray fitted various components revealing a further storage area beneath. A button to the rear of the box releases the front drawer, similarly line in red velvet with makers details to drawer top.

The inside edges to the base and lid fully trimmed with brass to avoid damage and chipping.

With fully working Bramah lock and key.
