A fine 19th century jewellery box by Tahan, Paris. Veneered in well chosen ambyna with contrasting ebony bandings, the whole with brass edging and brass stringing of varying thickness. Ornate decorative brass cartouche to the centre of the lid.

The interior of the box is lined in a powder blue silk velvet.

With working lock and key the top of the lock signed Tahan Paris.
